We know and love our Fill-in-the-Blanks activities, but we have taken them a step further and created the option to make them auto-graded, speaking activities. Just like with Pronunciation activities, students will click "Click and Talk" to verbalize their response instead of typing it. Before making the folder of activities, teachers simply click "Edit Activity", click the new "Speak the answers" box, and choose the language for the activity.

Here's how it looks:

Fill-in-the-Blanks Speaking

This type of speaking practice activity is better suited for scenarios where Fill-in-the-Blanks answers are in the format of short sentences, rather than being just single words. In grading, punctuation and upper/lower case are ignored.

Here's what it will look for students:

Teachers can even create their own speaking, Fill-in-the-Blanks activities to focus on different language aspects. Here is an example of a grammar-focused activity where students read a descriptive paragraph but change the verb tense.

A quick reminder that to get the best results, make sure you try the activity in the Preview Mode before assigning it to your students. Since this is AI technology, help ensure your student responses are captured correctly by using three or more words. This helps the AI recognize contextual clues.
