Using our SmartClass Let's Talk! English curricula as an example, the structure consists of six chapters with three sections per chapter that have focused vocabulary and grammar topics along with readings and assessments per level (A1 - C2). While we find value in utilizing our curriculum from start to finish, we understand that teachers have additional topics and concepts they need to instruct on.
With our filtering option, teachers do not have to download and delete hundreds of activities that they have no intention of using. Instead, they can create a class/course and click "Yes, add curricula". Then click "Filter Activities" to filter only the activities they plan to use with students.
Teachers are brought right to the Create Activities screen, where Curricula has already been selected and can begin filtering by language and level.
From there, teachers can filter which topic they are interested in, select which skills they want to focus on (reading, writing, speaking, listening), and what types of activities they are looking for. There is even the option to filter just the auto-graded activities. As activities are being filtered based on the requirements, they show up in the middle column where teachers can preview and add them to their created activities.
With filtering, teachers are better able to pick and choose which activities they find most beneficial to support their instruction and to focus on activities that match their students' learning needs. It can also be used to add specific activities from other levels into current classes with the full curriculum already downloaded by following the same steps at the Create Activities view.
